Founder, J. Matthew Stephenson, MAI is a designated member of the Appraisal Institute.  The Appraisal Institute is the premier global professional association for real estate appraisers.  The prestigious MAI designation is awarded to members that have met rigorous requirements related to education, testing, experience, demonstration of knowledge, understanding and ability.  The MAI designation has long been recognized by government agencies, courts of law, financial institutions and investors as a mark of excellence in the field of real estate appraisal and valuation services.

Since founding Stephenson Realty Advisors, Mr. Stephenson has been recognized as an expert by a local court and has been engaged to provide valuation services by multiple local communities.  The firm has recently been awarded a consulting contract by the State of Indiana (INDOT) for On Call Right of Way Appraising Services.  Over the last 19 years, Mr. Stephenson has appraised a variety of ownership interests in real property and appraised a diverse mix of property types.  Mr. Stephenson has appraised commercial properties for an extensive list of purposes including mortgage financing, sale, estate valuation, donation and gift purposes, condemnation, litigation, tax appeal hearings, insurance, foreclosure and easement acquisitions.
